New Zealand – Orakei Korako Geothermal park

Photos taken in the Orakei Korako Geothermal park on the North Island of New Zealand.

On the way down to Taupo from Rotorua on State Highway 5, there are several geothermal sites to visit. The following photos were taken at Orakei Korako Geothermal park. I honestly wish I could had seen all of the sights along the way down, as experiencing forces of nature like this is truly unique. The heat is immense, and the landscapes sometimes make you believe you’re on a different planet. It’s easy to spend several hours just looking at what’s going on around you.

Geothermal parks are definitely on the “must-see” list in New Zealand.

Why visit Orakei Korako Geothermal park

Same story as Rotorua. Very surreal, awesome place. They’re pretty close together, so you might as well stop by here while you’re at it.
